Broadway Showstopper: Jersey Boys Cancelled Tonight

It seems that sometimes the show doesn't actually go on. It's always very rare for a Broadway show to cancel a performance (even this winter's many snowstorms didn't faze Broadway), but Jersey Boys has had to cancel tonight's show due an underground fire and carbon monoxide concerns on West 52nd Street, where the show's theater resides. Earlier this evening there was a fire in the area due to smoldering cable lines underground. There were no injuries and everything is under control, but authorities are still concerned about carbon monoxide levels. Ticket holders will be able to get refunds or exchange their tickets, and all should be back to normal for Jersey Boys tomorrow.

The Jersey Boys Go Platinum

Decades after their chart-topping pop successes, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons are making records again. The cast recording of Jersey Boys, the Broadway musical retelling of Valli and the Seasons' rise to fame, has just been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. These days it is rare for a Broadway cast album to sell a million copies so soon after its release, so this is quite an achievement for Jersey Boys. The Grammy-winning recording, which features the talents of John Lloyd Young, J. Robert Spencer, Daniel Reichard, and Christian Hoff, has a slew of tunes made famous by Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, including such hits as "Oh, What a Night," "Sherry," "Walk Like A Man," "Big Girls Don't Cry," and "Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You".

The Jersey Boys Drop By America's Got Talent

Check out the TV show America's Got Talent tonight on NBC and see a performance by the leads in the Las Vegas company of the smash hit Broadway musical Jersey Boys. Deven May (Bat Boy: The Musical), Rick Faugno, Erich Bergen, and Jeffrey Leibow, who play '60s pop group Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, will perform a medley of songs from the musical on the latest episode of the popular television talent show, which is hosted by Nick Cannon and features celebrity judges David Hasselhoff, Piers Morgan, and Sharon Osbourne. "Sherry," "Walk Like a Man," Big Girls Don't Cry," "Oh, What a Night," and "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" are just a few of the memorable Frankie Valli/Four Seasons hits featured in Jersey Boys, which the medley is likely to include.
